This weekend Greg and Bailey had the pleasure of visiting the Whole Foods Market City Picnic – a wonderful outdoor adventure made up of vendor samplings, cooking demonstrations and giveaways (beach ball!). Greg enjoyed a delicious breakfast made up of Odwalla juice, energy bars, and Greek yogurt. Bailey went straight for the good stuff – gelato and GoGo Squeez applesauce. Yum!
To add extra pizazz to the day, Summer Streets was happening right beside the Whole Foods Picnic. Basically the NYC DOT, along with a number of other city agencies, closes down Park Avenue and opens it up for people to play, walk, bike, run, and rollerblade. There are no cars or buses hogging the street, just lots of open space that New Yorkers can explore. Greg and Bailey chose to rollerblade, but it only lasted 10 minutes because Greg’s big feet didn’t fit properly into the blades…
Because their rollerblading session was interrupted, Bailey wanted to visit some of the organizations that had stations set up at the Whole Foods picnic area. One of the coolest was the famous BioBus – “a mobile science laboratory.” Click here to watch the BioBus video!
After a couple hours of eating, drinking, walking, talking and general exploring, Bailey and Greg headed home. Does all this sound fun? Check out both the Whole Foods Market City Picnic and City Streets next Saturday, August 20th, as both are coming out for one more summer shabang!
